DANVILLE, Ky. - Centre women's tennis won 6-3 versus Millsaps College in a Saturday afternoon Southern Athletic Association (SAA) match on Senior Day.
The Colonels remain strong in doubles action as the Gold & White swept that portion of the match. Senior
Maddy Trinh and partner
Grace Williams won their second-straight top doubles match. They defeated Mary Dabadie and Kiana Everhart 8-2 en route to their sixth win as a duo.
Carlie Mitchell and
Kennedy Herring won 8-5 against Camille Fremaux and Madison Williams in the No. 2 match.
Kayla Harger and
Natalie Black rounded out doubles play with an 8-4 tally over Segen Lister and Mackenzie Vordick which gave them back-to-back victories.
Three wins were put up for Centre in the singles matches.
Grace Williams won 6-1, 6-4 versus Madison Williams in her fourth win as the No. 2 this season. Trinh continued her great senior day with a 6-1, 6-2 drubbing of Dabadie in her first appearance of the year in the four slot. Black was the final Colonel winner with a 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) battle with Lister in the No. 6 match.
Mitchell forced an extra set in what eventually became a 3-6, 6-1, 3-6 loss to Fremaux in the top singles competition. Herring dropped a 7-5, 6-2 decision to Everhart in the third-ranked match, while senior
Abby Jamison fell 6-4, 6-3 in the No. 5 competition.

The last home match of the season awaits Centre women's tennis tomorrow. An 11 a.m. battle with the SAA's Birmingham-Southern will take place at the Centre Outdoor Tennis Courts.
