DANVILLE, Ky. - A 6-3 loss for Centre men's tennis, that included several close matches, was the result in Southern Athletic Association (SAA) action against Birmingham-Southern College.
The Gold & White finished the 2024 home slate with a 6-8 overall record and a 1-2 tally in the SAA.
All three wins for the Colonels were in singles matches.
Ben Rueff won his second-straight match with a 7-6, 6-3 tally in the top spot versus Hallet Green.
Ashton Whitt joined the back-to-back win club with a 6-3, 6-3 decision over Eli Ingleson.
Jasper Gazzo earned the final win as he prevailed 6-1, 6-3 over Tom Smith.
Isaac Flanery had the most game wins, a total of seven in the No. 4 match, of any Centre setback in a 6-4, 6-3 loss to Ryan King.
Ty Bush had six game wins in his 6-2, 6-4 fall in the second-slotted solo match. to Sam Tolbert.
Bo Bush fell 6-2, 6-0 to Tanner DeBardelaben in the No. 5 match.
In doubles play, two Colonel teams forced tiebreakers. Bo and
Ty Bush narrowly fell in the top doubles match by a tally of 8-7 (7-4) to DeBardelaben and Smith. The same result befell Gazzo and
Chase Turley in the No. 3 battle with King and Ingleson. Rueff and Whitt lost 8-4 to Green and Tolbert in the second duos match.

Centre closes the season with four-straight SAA matches on the road. The first match of that swing comes on Saturday, April 13 at 11 a.m. at Oglethorpe in Atlanta.
