ROME, Ga. - Centre men's golf entered the last of three rounds at the Chick-Fil-A Invitational in tenth place and they capped off their final tournament of the fall with a tenth place finish.
In a close middle of the leaderboard, Centre finished one shot back of Sewanee and three back of LaGrange while finishing four shots ahead of Virginia Wesleyan.
Individually, freshman
Peyton Toon kept the momentum from his round of 70 to finish off Monday by shooting even par 72 on Tuesday, landing in eighth place overall with a 54-hole score of 218. Toon was rock solid on Tuesday, recording with 16 pars and shooting birdie on the par 4 10th hole near the end of his round.
Harrison Akers joined Toon in the overall top 25 as he shot 77 on Tuesday to cap off his tournament with a two-day score of 225, good for 24th place overall.
Charlie Reber and
Ben Bevington posted respective tournament scores of 234 and 235 as Reber shot 77 on Tuesday and Bevington shot 79 in his final round
Andrew Mainka rounded out Centre's Tuesday totals with a score of 80, including consecutive birdies near the turn on 2 and 3. He finished with a tournament score of 248.
