DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. - The final round of play at the West Pines Collegiate wrapped up on Tuesday afternoon and after 54 holes of competition, the Centre men's golf team landed in a three-way tie for tenth place.
The Colonels shot a combined team score of 295 in the Tuesday session to finish with a tournament score of 883 to tie with Averett and Greensboro. Centre finished three shots back of McDaniel and five back of Drew in the 21-team field.
Individually, the low men of the day for the Colonels were
Peyton Toon and
Charlie Reber, each posting a score of 73. Toon was Centre's low scorer of the tournament, shooting 218 through 54 holes to land just outside the individual top 20 while Reber finished three shots back at 221 thanks to his score of 70 in round 2.
Harrison Akers and
Jack Butts each finished at 219 for the tournament, with Akers shooting 74 in the third round and Butts shooting 75. Butts's Tuesday round featured three birdies, including one on the par 5 17th where he and Akers each eagled during the Monday session.
Andrew Mainka posted a score of 75 on Tuesday that included a birdie on his final hole of the tournament to finish at 236 through 54 holes.
Ben Bevington played as an individual and turned in a round of 76 to finish at 226 for the tournament.
