ATLANTA – The Southern Athletic Association released its preseason poll for the 2025-26 men's basketball season, and by the slimmest margin, Centre was picked at the top of the standings, as voted on by the league's coaches.
The Colonels return eight rotation players from last season's squad that went 17-10 and advanced to the conference title game for the first time since 2020 before falling at regular season champion Berry. Centre is one of four teams to receive first place votes in this year's poll, joining Trinity, Berry and Rhodes.

The Centre men's basketball team will open up the 2025-26 season on Nov. 7 with a road game against Asbury.
