Wahl nets career high 22 as Centre men sweep Warriors

CONWAY, Ark. – The Centre men's basketball team earned its 15th victory of the 2024-25 season as they completed the regular season sweep of the Hendrix Warriors with an 82-67 victory on the road.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

- It took over two minutes for Centre to crack the scoreboard, but after Kalib Thomas drilled a three-pointer to give the Colonels a 3-2 lead, they never trailed again.
- The two teams traded baskets over the next several minutes and the game was tied at 20-20 at the halfway point of the half before Centre unleashed a 17-5 run as Nolan Wahl and Jaxson Banks hit threes during the rally.
- Over the final three minutes of the half, Hendrix recaptured the momentum with a 10-2 run. Banks converted a jumper in the final seconds to give Centre a 41-35 lead at the break.
- Hendrix kept the momentum in the early part of the second half as the Warriors crashed the offensive glass to pull to within a basket. Now up by just two at 43-41, Centre came through with its biggest run of the game, outscoring Hendrix 16-1 over the next five minutes and change, capped off by a three-point play from Ryan Shene.
- With ten minutes to go, Shene jump started another Centre rally with a three-pointer, triggering a dozen consecutive points to put the game out of reach. The Colonels went up by as many as 23 points on a Wahl and-1 and a Thomas three, while Hendrix was unable to get closer than 13 the rest of the way.
