ATLANTA - Earlier today the Southern Athletic Association released its weekly awards for baseball and Centre's
Ben Prather was named Pitcher of the Week for games played through Mar. 9.
Prather tossed a seven-inning shutout to get his second win of the season in Centre's 4-0 victory against no. 13 Rhodes on Mar. 8. The junior All-American went the distance in the second game of the doubleheader sweep for the Colonels, allowing just three hits while striking out seven in the win, which is the only time Rhodes has been shut out this season.
For the season, Prather has a 0.44 ERA with 24 strikeouts, having allowed just one earned run across four starts.
Centre baseball will return to action as they host Asbury for the second time this season.
