RICHMOND, Ky.- On Saturday, all 15 members of the men's golf team traveled to Eastern Kentucky University to take part in the Indy at Arlington, hosted at the University Club of Arlington. The competition was a one-day, 36-hole event with individual scoring only.
Jack Butts led the Colonels as the only member to crack the top 25, landing in a tie for 22
nd with a combined score of 149 (74-75). At the end of his play, the sophomore ranked eighth in the tournament for total par-3s with an average of 3.13 a round.
Shooting no worse than a bogey in round two,
Harrison Akers improved between his two rounds to share the tie for 35
thwith a total mark of 153(79-74).
Evan Avret's consistency placed him in a tie for 37
th with a complete score of 154 (77-77).
Grey Goodwin,
Dylan McGrath, and
Andrew Mainka shared the tie for 43
rd with matching scores of 157, Goodwin with (78-79), McGrath shooting (81-76), and Mainka with (80-77).
Charlie Reber was the final Colonel within the field's top 50. The sophomore shot a 159 (84-75) to land in a tie for 48
th.
Cameron Bassel and
Jiles Wyatt shared the 50
th seed. The two Colonels both registered final scores of 159, Bassel with (84-75) mark and Wyatt shooting (79-80).
Charlie Morgan closed in a tie for 54
th with a score of 162 (84-78).
Ben Bevington,
Shane Limberg, and
Joshua Peters shared the tie for 56
th with final scores of 163.
Rounding out the Colonels' line-up,
James Folz took 59
th outright with a combined mark of 167(83-84) while
Palmer McKelvey finished in 60
th with a final score of 171 (90-81).
