BEREA, Ky. – The Centre track & field teams sent a very small group of athletes to compete in the Landon Bond Invitational at Berea. Highlights included a handful of personal best marks at the unscored meet.
On the men's side, the Colonels had only one representative at the meet, but
Blake Busson made the most of the opportunity, clocking in at an even 11 seconds in the 100m to finish first overall for a new personal best.
The Centre women picked up an event win as
Ainsley Wilson took first place in the 400m with a time of 59.30. She also raced in the 200m and took third place with a time of 26.37.
Moving onto women's throws, Zoey Shahid Scott had a productive day, finishing second in the shot put (11.19m), fourth in the discus (34.19m) and fifth in the hammer (38.85m), recording personal best marks in the last two events. In the javelin,
Dayanara Mendez took fourth place overall with a mark of 29.53m. Two more personal best marks came courtesy of
Kellaiah Laurent, who posted throws of 9.15m in the shot put and 24.98 in the hammer.
