8/18/2025 7:57:00 PM

Centre College Athletics has announced the promotion of T.Y. Fisher to Head Athletic Trainer, effective immediately.

Fisher replaces Mattie Zimmerman, who departed over the summer. He continues at Centre, where he has been since 2006. He had served in the role of Senior Associate Athletic Trainer and NCAA Health Care Administrator since 2022.

"Our student-athletes have raved about his care for nearly 20 years, and we are fortunate to have such a talented professional on staff to take over with the leadership function of this critical unit.  TY is a genuinely good person who has earned this exciting step forward, " said Brad Fields '98, Director of Athletics and Recreation at Centre College.

Fisher graduated from Mississippi State University in 2000 with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education. He later earned his Master's in Sports Administration at Eastern Kentucky University.

"I am both honored and excited to accept the position of Head Athletic Trainer," Fisher said. "Throughout my time here, I've witnessed the growth and resilience of our student athletes, and I am eager to continue supporting their development, health and well-being.  I am looking forward to collaborating more closely with he coaching staff, administration, and medical team to ensure the highest standards of care for our student athletes."

Fisher is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, the Southeast Athletic Trainers Association and the Kentucky Athletic Trainers Society. Most recently at Centre, he has served as the primary athletic trainer for field hockey, volleyball, women's basketball and men's lacrosse.
