McNeilly breaks two records at Vanderbilt

1/16/2026 5:32:00 PM

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Centre junior and six-time All-American stepped up a level in competition on Friday as she traveled to SEC territory to compete in the pentathlon against a field of athletes from all divisions, mostly Division I. McNeilly had a fantastic day on the track as she finished fifth out of 23 competitors while breaking a pair of program records in the process.

The first record to fall for McNeilly was in her top event as an individual. She cleared 1.76 meters (5-9.25) to break her previous record in the event – set back in December at the season opener – by a quarter of an inch. That mark was also good enough to win the event overall.

In addition to her record-setting high jump mark, McNeilly posted a new personal best mark in the long jump, finishing up at 5.73 meters (18-9.5) to finish second in the event.

After five events, McNeilly had accumulated 3,560 total points, which was the second record to fall, as she eclipsed her prior record in the pentathlon by nearly 200 points.

Already on track for an outstanding junior campaign, McNeilly will likely be ranked first in all of Division III in the pentathlon at the end of today's meets to go along with top five rankings in the high jump, triple jump and long jump.

Centre women's track & field will return to team competition on Jan. 24 with the Centre Indoor Showcase.
