ATLANTA - Earlier today the Southern Athletic Association released its weekly awards for track & field and Centre came away with a clean sweep, winning all four awards on the men's and women's side.

On the men's side, junior Justin Lewis was named SAA Track Athlete of the Week. On Friday night at the Centre Indoor Showcase, Lewis ran his best 60m hurdles race of the season as he posted a time of 8.45, shaving nearly a full tenth of a second from his preliminary time. That marks currently ranks at the top of the SAA Indoor Performance List in the event.

In addition, sophomore Eden Silver was named SAA Field Athlete of the Week. Silver had a career best performance at the Centre Indoor Showcase, as he won the men's pole vault with a clear of 13-11.25 (4.25m) to give Centre ten huge points in a meet the Colonels won by three. It was Silver's personal best pole vault mark ever by four inches and also ranks first in the SAA coming out of the weekend.

On the women's side, five-time All-American Chloe Hein earned both Track Athlete of the Week and Field Athlete of the week for her stunning performance at the Centre Indoor Showcase. She earned a pair of victories for the Centre women in sprints, posting times of 7.80 in the 60m and 25.26 in the 200m to help the Colonels cruise to victory. Later in the evening she competed in her signature event, the long jump, and set a new program record with a mark of 20-0.5 (6.11m), which currently ranks her at the top of all of Division III in that event.

Centre track & field will return to action on Jan. 31 with the Steemer Showcase at Wittenberg
