ATLANTA – The Southern Athletic Association released its preseason poll for the 2026 baseball season, and Centre was picked to finish second, as voted on by the league's coaches.
The Colonels finished second in the SAA last season with a 32-11 record and spent the majority of the season in the top 25. Centre was one of four current SAA teams to make the NCAA Tournament in 2025, joining Trinity, Millsaps and Rhodes. This year, the Colonels are ranked 17th in the d3baseball.com preseason poll and 20th in the ABCA preseason poll. Trinity received seven of the eight first place votes in the 2026 SAA preseason poll, with the last one going to Centre.

Centre baseball will kick off the 2026 season with a home series against the University of Chicago on Feb. 14-15.
