DANVILLE, Ky. - Centre baseball returned home after a two-week road trip for a midweek clash under the lights of Gary Wright Field against the Asbury Eagles. The Centre offense exploded in a 13-3 run rule victory.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- After a quiet first two innings, the Centre bats woke up in the bottom of the third.
Baylor Woodall led off the inning with a base hit. The Colonels then loaded the bases after
Michael Lynch walked and
Ben Prather was hit by a pitch.

Ayden Lohr plated the first Centre run with an RBI triple, and then
Aaron Lopez smashed a triple off the wall that was inches away from a three-run homer, putting Centre up 3-0.
Evan Weyler ripped a single through the left side to cap off the crooked number for the Colonels, giving them a 4-0 lead.
- In the sixth, the first three Centre runners reached on an error and two walks.
Evan Rygalski was hit by a pitch to drive in a run, and then
Matthew Maggard drove in a pair with a base hit.
Forrest Day put down a picture perfect bunt for a hit to load the bases again and pinch runner
Graham Johnson scored on a wild pitch to make it 8-0. An RBI groundout from Woodall and a sacrifice fly by Lynch made it 10-0 in favor of the home team.
- Asbury mounted a rally in the sixth as they looked to extend the game, scoring three runs on two singles and two errors to cut the deficit to seven.
- Centre quickly responded in their half of the sixth as Lopez and Weyler led off the inning with walks and eventually scored on a two-run single from Maggard to make it 12-3. Pinch runner
Wesley Taylor stole second and later scored on a shot up the middle from Woodall to put Centre back up by ten at 13-3.

John Kosobud needed just ten pitches to retire the side in the top of the seventh to secure the win for the Colonels.
