DANVILLE, Ky. - The game of the year for Centre baseball saw the Colonels rally from a three-run deficit to knock off the Trinity Tigers 8-7 in walk-off fashion.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- After both teams failed to capitalize with runners in scoring position in the early innings, Trinity grabbed the first lead on a two-run homer in the third.
- The Colonels got a run back as
Jamison Craig walked to lead off Centre's half of the third and then
Ben Prather doubled into the gap to drive in Craig and cut the margin to 2-1.
- The next two innings belonged to the visiting team as the Tigers increased the lead to 4-1 on an RBI single in the fourth and a solo home run in the fifth.
- In the sixth, the Colonels put runners on the corners after
Chase Austin doubled off the right field wall and
Baylor Woodall followed with a base hit.
Forrest Day legged out an infield hit to make it a 4-2 game and then after a sacrifice bunt, Prather delivered a shot up the middle to drive in two more runs to tie the game at 4-4.
- Trinity responded once again as the Tigers regained the lead in the seventh on a sacrifice fly to make it 5-4.
- Centre started an eighth inning rally as Day worked a one-out walk. A sacrifice bunt put pinch runner
Carson Mire on second and Prather came through in the clutch yet again, ripping another base hit up the middle to tie the game.
- The Colonels kept the momentum going one batter later as
Ayden Lohr blasted one deep into the Danville night sky to give the Colonels their first lead of the game at 7-5.
- In the top of the ninth, the Tigers led off with a double and then a two-base error cut the lead to 7-6. Trinity had runners on first and second with two outs, down to their last strike before tying the game with an RBI single.
- With the score now tied again, Austin and Woodall led off the bottom of the ninth with walks. With two outs, Craig walked on four pitches to load the bases for Prather, who was already 4-4 on the night. The first pitch was too far inside and struck the senior All-American for the game-winning RBI.

- With his fourth hit of the evening, Prather reached 214 hits for his career, surpassing the program record for career hits, previously held by Drew Schacht '19. In addition to going perfect at the plate, Prather also finished with a game high four RBIs.
