Centre came out in the first quarter, with an agressive offensive pressure, with several scoring chances and multiple penalty corners, but Non Kaufman turned away a series of shots to keep it scoreless.
The Colonels were able to break throuhg midway through when Rylee carothers converted a rebound following a penatly corner sequence to take the lead 1-0. Wooster had a late opportunity late in the period, but Frankie Zehnal's shot went wide, allowing Centre to carry the 1-0 leade into the second quarter.
Centre came out strong in the second quarter, with
Leda Beale opened the scoring at 20:24, finishing a pass from the wing from
Lola Florea.
Colonels continued to apply pressure and was rewarded again, when
Hannah Miller scored underneath the keeper's pads, with another assist from Florea, and not stopping as they continued to generate several additional scoring opportunities and earned four penalty corners during the quarter.
Wooster created a few dangerous chances of its own, but Centre's goalkeeper
Addie Sheridan came up with key saves, including a point-blank stop on Frankie Zehnal and a diving save on Naledi Jani. Centre carried a 3–0 advantage into halftime.
Wooster came out of halftime with immediate pressure, cutting Centre's lead to 3–1 just 32 seconds into the third quarter. Izzie Kline scored off a deflection following a penalty corner, with Frankie Zehnal providing the assist.
Wooster continued to create opportunities, earning four penalty corners in the opening six minutes, but Sheridan continued to make several key saves to keep the lead intact. Centre responded with increased offensive pressure late in the quarter, producing multiple shots from Hannah Miller, Olivia Vonderheide, Ashley Hamilton, and Abbie Woolley. Wooster goalkeeper Nono Kauffman also made several important stops.
Centre finished the quarter with a pair of penalty-corner opportunities and remained in control on the scoreboard, taking a 3–1 lead into the fourth quarter.
The fourth quarter proved to be a comeback wuarter, Centre opened with the first chances of the quarter, as Olivia Vonderheide forced a save from Wooster goalkeeper Kauffman and Leda Beale sending a shot wide.
Wooster began to turn up the pressure midway through the quarter. Following a Centre yellow card, Wooster earned a penalty corner, and Izzie Kline scored her second goal of the game on a deflection, assisted by Naledi Jani, cutting Centre's lead to 3–2.
Just over a minute later, Wooster struck again. Frankie Zehnal fired a shot from just inside the circle off a penalty corner, with Miranda Jones providing the assist, tying the game at 3–3 with just over four minutes remaining.
Centre had one final penalty corner with under a minute to play, but Ashley Hamilton's shot was blocked. Neither team could find a winning goal, and the game ended in regulation tied 3-3, sending the game into overtime.
Centre and Wooster battled through a scoreless overtime period, with both teams creating chances but neither able to find the winning goal. Centre goalkeeper Addie Sheridan came up with two crucial saves, stopping shots from Wooster's Frankie Zehnal and Izzie Kline.
Centre generated pressure late in overtime, earning two penalty corners in the final three minutes. Olivia Vonderheide nearly converted one opportunity, but her shot was deflected high and off the crossbar. Moments later, Ashley Hamilton forced a save from Wooster goalkeeper Nono Kauffman.
After 10 minutes of overtime, the teams remained tied 3–3, sending the game beyond into a second overtime.
Centre wasted no time putting pressure on Wooster in the second overtime period. The Colonels earned back-to-back penalty corners within the opening minute, with Abbie Woolley forcing a save from Wooster goalkeeper Nono Kauffman.
Just seconds later, Centre earned another opportunity, and Abbie Woolley delivered the game-winning goal at 71:26, finishing a deflected pass to give Centre a 4–3 victory.
After Wooster had battled back from a 3–1 deficit to tie the game in the fourth quarter, Centre's decisive goal in the second overtime sealed the comeback win. the Colonels are back at home on Saturday September 19th.
