Played in 8 of 12 games for the Colonels as a freshman, totaling 13 tackles ... Season high seven tackles at Austin (Oct. 6) with one TFL.

HIGH SCHOOL
Played multiple sports at Madison Southern High School aside from football, including basketball, swimming and track & field … USA Today Kentucky Defensive Player of the Year in 2017, totaling 207 tackles (151 solo) while recovering three fumbles … Contributed 1,442 yards and 22 total touchdowns on offense … Helped the Eagles finish as KHSAA 5A Runners-up as a senior, going 11-4 overall, and was also part of Madison Southern’s first-ever District championship team in 2015 … KHSAA 5A District 6 Player of the Year in 2016 and 2017 … Named to the rosters of the Best of the Bluegrass All-Star Football Game and Border Bowl … Earned KHSAA Academic All-State honors … Holds program records for total tackles, total sacks and sack per game, as well as the school’s power clean record (315 lbs.) … Finished career with over 600 tackles and 40 touchdowns … University of Kentucky PEPP Scholar and Kentucky Governor’s Scholar.

Born 9/17/99 … Son of Darrell and Sara Smith … Has two younger brothers, Walter and Elliott … His uncle, Todd Morres, was a tight end for the Colonels in the late 80s.
