Centre grad Dylan Barnett '18 joined the Colonel staff as a student assistant and was named wide receivers coach prior to the 2018 campaign.
In 2019, Barnett coached All-SAA selection Jordan Gunter, who was among the conference leaders with 46 catches, 700 yards and six touchdowns.
During his first season, in which the Colonels went 10-2 overall and reached the NCAA Division III Playoffs, three wideouts were named to All-SAA. Jaylon Hibbs set program records with 13 receiving touchdowns and 1,238 yards, leading the league with 20.3 yards-per-catch. He also set the single-game mark with 211 receiving yards against Millsaps (Oct. 27), and went on to earn an invite to the prestigious Hula Bowl All-Star Game.
