Shomari White '17

Shomari White joined Centre prior to the 2017 season as tight ends coach.

Most recently, White was part of Centre's 10-2 campaign in 2018, in which the Colonels claimed a share of the SAA Championship and reached the NCAA Division III Playoffs. Under his guidance, Davis Kannapell was named First Team All-SAA, while Breece Hayes garnered Honorable Mention.

In 2017, He helped senior Austin Hayes garner All-SAA Second Team honors after finishing third on the team with 25 catches, going for 316 yards and five touchdowns.

White graduated from Centre in 2017, majoring in Anthropology and Sociology while minoring in Politics. On the field, he was a member of the Colonels’ 2014 SAA Championship squad.

White is originally from Nashville, and played high school football at perennial powerhouse Ensworth. He was a three-year starter on the defensive line for Ensworth’s three consecutive state championships (2010, 11, 12), capping his career as part of the 13-0 team that rose to No. 11 in the final MaxPreps Top 25 National High School Ranking in 2012.Â
