Chris Shelli

Christopher Shelli was appointed as an assistant coach for the Centre men’s lacrosse coaching staff in the fall of 2024.

In the early stages of his coaching career, Shelli received mentorship from hall of fame lacrosse coaches Tom Harrington III and Tom Graesser. He achieved success coaching high school lacrosse at the Kent Denver School in Colorado, contributing to multiple undefeated seasons and state championships.

Before joining the Centre lacrosse program, Shelli notably coached the varsity lacrosse team for Woodford County. Under his guidance, the (2024) Woodford County High School varsity team achieved an unprecedented 18-0 record for the season, leading them to secure the Kentucky high school state championship. This marked a historic moment in Kentucky lacrosse history as the first time a county team won a state championship.

Shelli, a graduate of the University of Denver with a degree in Finance and Real Estate Construction Management, was part of the initial class recruited to play lacrosse during the university’s first year as an NCAA Division I program.

Prior to attending the University of Denver, Shelli had an outstanding high school career in upstate New York and Long Island, excelling as a two-sport student-athlete in track and field and lacrosse. One of his most enjoyable experiences was having the privilege of playing with the Onondaga and Akwesasne Native American lacrosse programs early in his career.

Shelli and his family currently reside in Versailles, KY.
