A native of the state of Michigan, Beals served as the Head Coach of Michigan State University in the 2024-25 season. Additionally, Beals has served as a volunteer assistant for his high school Alma mater, Detroit Catholic Central, is currently a prominent face-off coach for the Face off Factory, and has served for multiple club programs such as Silverbacks Lacrosse Club and True National Lacrosse.
In his playing career, Beals was an exceptional face-off specialist, where he played at Division 1 Mount St Mary’s and Drexel University. Beals started in every game of his career and was voted unanimously as the MAAC conference Face off Specialist of the Year in 2023, along with ranking #2 in NCAA Division 1 in face off percentage with a 65.1% win percentage in the 2023 season
