Sophomore Year (2015): SAA Academic Honor Roll; Saw action in one game as a sophomore defender.

Freshman Year (2014): Did not see any game action. SAA Academic Honor Roll

High School: Played high school soccer for St. Xavier High School in Louisville, Kentucky under head coach Andy Schulten. As a junior, played in 22 games for St. Xavier compiling a 27-0-2 record and winning the state championship as well as the Kentucky Cup, District Championship, and Regional Championship. The team was ranked No. 4 and No. 2 in the main national polls. As a senior, played in all 26 games as the starting left back for St. Xavier compiling a 15-6-5 record, winning the District Championship, playing in the prestigious Gateway Classic, and finishing as Regional finalists. Also was awarded the Brother Benjamin Award at the end of the season. Played club soccer for United 1996 F.C. under head coach B.J. Andriot. Also played for other clubs including Kentucky Fire Juniors and Javanon.

Personal: Son of Daniel and Julianne Lukens. Has one sister, Abby Lukens, who is a senior at Rhodes College. Possible majors are Spanish or Politics. Sam chose Centre because "It is the perfect balance between a rigorous liberal arts education and a strong soccer program. In addition it is a good-sized school with a beautiful campus not too far from Louisville."
