Chris Morris ‘96 graduate joined the Centre women's basketball program in 2020 after several years assistant coaching at Sacred Heart Academy in Louisville, Ky. and practicing law for the last 20 years.
Coach Morris was a member of the 1992-1996 Centre College men’s basketball program, earning the 110% Award as a Senior. He was also the first ever member of the NCAA Student- Athlete Advisory Committee at Centre. Prior to attending Centre, Morris grew up in Peachtree City, Ga. and Puerto Rico. While growing up in Puerto Rico, Coach Morris learned to speak Spanish and is bilingual. Morris brings the unique combination of assisting at a high level competitive program while being a partner at one of the oldest law firms in Louisville. Recently, Coach Morris decided to follow his dream to be a college coach.
While at Sacred Heart, Morris assisted at a program with a combined 164-34 (.828) record and three Sweet Sixteen appearances in seven years. During that time the program played in multiple national tournaments, been nationally ranked, won the prestigious Louisville Invitational Tournament twice and coached multiple Division I, II, III and NAIA players in the last four years. Morris’s coaching path has, frankly, been a path of the love of the game; first starting coaching 20 years ago as an elementary school coach.
Off the court, Morris has been a successful trial attorney, and partner, for 20 years at one of oldest trial law firms in Louisville, Morris tried several cases, and garnered multi-million dollar verdicts.
Morris presently lives in Louisville.
