Scot MacAlllister joined the Centre women's basketball program in 2014 after successful coaching stints in California and Kentucky at the high school and AAU level, as well as some early junior college time.
While in Kentucky, Coach Mac, as he is called, took the "counted out" 2013-14 Russell County Lady Lakers back to the 16th District Championship game and the 4th Region Tournament. He rebuilt the Logan County program from the bottom up with a 4th Region semifinal finish in the 2009-10 season. Possibly his greatest Kentucky on court successes have been in the AAU circuit with the Kentucky Blast, being a part of two Kentucky State Tournament Championships (2012 & 2013).
Off the court, MacAllister spearheaded an event that started out as taking care of a friend that turned into a national honor for Logan County High School, Magoffin County High School, and the KHSAA. His association with coach Scott Castle of Magoffin County through AAU had MacAllister gather up local student support for the Lady Hornets of Magoffin County who were competing in the KHSAA Girls Sweet Sixteen days after tornadoes had decimated Salyersville in 2012. For his efforts and those of the students of Logan County and Magoffin County were awarded the KHSAA Spirit of Sport Award and the National Federation of High Schools Spirit of Sport Award for 2013. In a one year stint as the head women's coach at Dinuba High School (1998), he led the Lady Emperors to a Central Sequoia League Championship and a Division III Sweet Sixteen appearance. Named Central Sequoia League Coach of the Year (1998), County All- Stars head coach (1998), County All-Stars assistant coach (1996 & 2002).
As the head assistant women's coach/defensive coordinator at Kings River Community College (now Reedley College). The Lady Tigers made the California State Junior College Sweet Sixteen (1992 & 1993) behind the MacAllister 14th ranked defense in the state.
