DANVILLE, Ky. - The Centre volleyball team honored seniors
Savannah Guenther and
Lizzie Royster with Senior Night festivities before hosting the Birmingham Southern Panthers in Southern Athletic Association action. The Colonels fell to the Panthers in straight sets.
HIGHLIGHTS
- After dropping the opening set 25-4, The Colonels played a tight second set against the Panthers, featuring six lead changes and 13 ties.
Perrin Long fought off a set point with a kill to tie the score at 24-24, but BSC took the next two points and the set with a 26-24 win.
- The Colonels dug themselves a 17-10 hole late in the third set, but responded with a run of six straight points to cut the deficit to one. BSC called a timeout to rally the troops and responded with five straight points of their own, but Centre scored the next three. Trailing 24-19, the Colonels held off a pair of Panther match points, but the rally fell short and BSC took the match with a 25-21 win.

Aby Dallas led the Colonels with seven kills on the night, followed by Long with five.

Peyton Vacala tied a game high with ten digs, followed by Guenther with nine.
