DANVILLE, Ky. – The Centre volleyball team had its final home match of the year as they hosted the Sewanee Tigers, losing in four sets.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Sewanee used an 8-1 run late in the opening set to break open what had been a close first period, eventually winning by a score of 25-15.
- The Colonels fell behind again in the second set, trailing by as many as eight points at 23-15 before rallying for five straight points. Centre fought off one set point but could not fight off the next as Sewanee won 25-21.
- In the third set, Centre assumed control at about the midway point and never looked back as they hit .355 as a team and won 25-17, with an ace from Peyton Vacala securing the victory.
- The fourth set was the most closely contested one of the match, with neither team leading by more than three points at any time, but the Tigers closed strong with six of the last seven points and took the match with a 25-22 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Perrin Long led the way for the Colonels with a game high 11 kills, followed by Savanna Roper with ten.
- Kylie Cochran finished with 32 of Centre's 38 assists and also added seven digs and two blocks.
- Vacala finished with 34 digs, one shy of a career high. Bailey Vernon added 16 digs while Savannah Guenther finished with ten digs.

The Colonels will wrap up the Southern Athletic Association portion of their schedule over the weekend, beginning with a trip to Hendrix on Saturday.
