ATLANTA - The Centre volleyball team struggled getting off the blocks in their road conference matchup against the Stormy Petrels of Oglethorpe, losing in straight sets and falling to 5-10 on the year.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre jumped out to a 7-1 lead in the opening set, but Oglethorpe used multiple runs of at least six consecutive points to take the lead for good, winning by a score of 24-19.
- In a back and forth second set, the Colonels held a 13-11 lead before the Petrels scored 14 of the final 18 points to take a 2-0 lead with a 24-17 victory.
- Trailing 19-14 in the third set, Centre rallied to tie the score with a 5-0 run, capped off with an ace from
Peyton Vacala. The teams would trade points until it was 24-24, but then the errors that plagued Centre for the entire match showed up at the worst time as two Colonel miscues led to two Oglethorpe points and a 26-24 win.

- Vacala finished with a team high nine digs for the afternoon.
- The Petrels finished with nine aces in the match compared to four for the Colonels
