WILMINGTON, Ohio – Centre women's basketball bounced back into the "win" column by defeating North Central, 57-40, in their final game of the Fred Raizk Memorial Tournament at Hermann Court.
The Colonels (4-1) held the Cardinals (1-3) to a paltry 8-for-52 (15.4%) mark as a team from the floor, including a 1-for-21 effort from long range. It marked North Central's worst shooting performance in at least 17 seasons.
On the other end of the court, Centre knocked down 8 of 14 from deep while getting a game-high 16 points from
Kat Wilson.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre relied on the long ball early and often Sunday to break out of Saturday's offensive slump, hitting three in the first quarter to carry a 11-8 lead into the second period.

Madison Rice and
Madison Marcum each hit triples in the opening 10 minutes.

Cheyenne Bunner had five of Centre's 15 points in the second quarter, and as a team the Colonels held the Cardinals without a field goal the entire frame.
- Centre took a 26-19 lead into the break, with North Central hanging around primarily due to a plus-11 advantage at the free throw line.
- Three quick 3-pointers early in the third quarter forced a timeout from the Cardinals, giving Centre its biggest lead to that point at 35-22. Rice contributed the first while Marcum drained the next two.
- Centre maintained a comfortable margin throughout the rest of the game, at one point leading by as many as 18.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Since game-by-game statistics became available (2001-02), North Central had never hit as few field goals (8) or finished with a lower shooting percentage (15.4%).
- Wilson's 16 points marked a season high, and came on a 6-for-10 effort from the field. She added five rebounds and three assists, as well. For her efforts over the weekend, Wilson was named to the All-Tournament Team.
- Rice followed with 11 points, adding three rebounds and an assist, and Marcum finished with nine by hitting all three of her 3-pointers.

Abigail Wehby led Centre with seven rebounds, four assists and two steals.
- Centre assisted on 12 of its 17 made field goals.
