CINCINNATI – Centre women's basketball ran into a hot Mt. St. Joseph squad Saturday afternoon, falling by a 71-47 margin inside the Harrington Center.
The Colonels drop to 8-3 overall with the loss, while the Lions improve to 7-4 after shooting an even 50 percent (24-48) overall while hitting eight 3-pointers.
HIGHLIGHTS
- The opening quarter was closely contested, and following a step-back 3-pointer from
Lakken Miller the Colonels held a 10-9 advantage.

Abigail Stewart led the team with six first-quarter points, but Centre trailed 17-14 heading to the second.
- Mt. St. Joseph would reel off a crippling 20-0 run in the early stages of the second quarter, quickly taking a 38-18 lead before carrying a 42-27 edge into the half.
- Centre would outscore MSJ 15-9 in the third quarter, trimming the deficit back to single digits.
- The host Lions would press the pedal down in the fourth, however, sprinting away from the Colonels with a 20-5 finish.

Mikayla Fee scored a career-high 12 points to lead Centre, going 4-for-5 from the floor and from the free throw line. She added a team-high five rebounds, as well.

Abigail Stewart followed with nine points, and
Kat Wilson had seven.
- MSJ thrived off of 19 Centre turnovers, scoring 24 points, and also out-rebounded the Colonels, 33-28.
