GAMBIER, Ohio –Centre field hockey dropped a defensive struggle in the 2018 season opener at Kenyon Friday evening, falling 1-0 at McBride Field.
The Colonels also opened 2017 with a loss to Kenyon before going on to win a program-best 17 games.
HIGHLIGHTS
- More than an hour of gameplay passed before Kenyon's Sarah Metzmaier broke the scoreless draught, finishing off a feed from Tara Shetty
- Centre would threaten with seven shots in the final eight minutes, but Kenyon's defense held. The hosts' keeper, Maddie Lockyer, totaled nine saves in the win.
