DANVILLE, Ky. – Following a lengthy lightning delay, the Centre men's soccer squad took care of visiting Gallaudet, 4-0, to open the 2018 season at Amend Field Friday evening.
In the first-ever meeting between the programs, sophomores
Will Newton and
Dylan Barth each delivered a brace for the Colonels.
HIGHLIGHTS
- After a handful of chances, the Colonels broke open the scoring with a goal in the 25th minute. Newton got enough of a boot on

- Minutes later, Barth doubled the lead after coming up with a steal just in front of the 18-yard box and burying a right-footed kick. It was the sophomore's first career goal as a Colonel.
- Barth notched his second goal in the closing minutes of the first half, pinning home a feed from
James Warinner after a Centre corner kick.
- In a second half marked with numerous yellow cards, Newton provided his second score off of an assist from
Royce Pope.
-
Jackson Meyer brought the score to 5-0 in the 83rd minute off
Patrick Ferrell's assist.
