DANVILLE, Ky. – Centre field hockey overwhelmed in-state rival Transylvania Friday evening, cruising to an 8-0 rout at South Turf Field.
The Colonels improve to 2-2 overall with their second straight win, and Head Coach
Jenelle Anthony moves to a remarkable 17-0 against Transy in her career. The Pioneers fall to 1-4.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, as
Savannah Elpers netted the game's first goal in the third minute.
- Elpers doubled her output with another score in the ninth minute, and just two minutes later
Emily Schank slotted home a perfect pass from
Peyton Baer to make it 3-0.

Sarah Biggs rebounded a Schank shot in the 16th minute for a score, and
Katie Jenkins delivered her first career goal near the end of the half to make it 5-0.
- Biggs opened the second-half scoring in the 40th minute, netting her second of the night and fourth of the season.

Elizabeth Fortier also had a memorable night, scoring her first collegiate goal in the 50th minute, and Jenkins doubled up in the 53rd minute to bring the tally to 8-0.

Elizabeth Solomon each played a half in goal, although Transy attempted no shots at all as Centre dominated possession.
- The Colonels piled up 32 shots, putting 27 on goal, and had eight corners to Transy's zero.

The Colonels have an eight-day hiatus before welcoming Concordia (WI) to South Turf Field for an 11 a.m. ET start Sept. 23. It will be Centre's Southern Athletic Association opener.
