CINCINNATI – Centre women's soccer remains perfect on the season following a 3-1 victory Sunday on the road against Mt. St. Joseph.
The 18th-ranked Colonels (6-0) got a pair of goals from junior
Alana Hughes to hand the Lions (3-1-2) their first defeat of the season. Centre also avenged a 1-0 home loss to MSJ last year.

Cameron Zak opened the scoring in the 18th minute, netting her first career goal off a corner feed from
Hannah Sirkin.
- MSJ would equalize in the 20th minute on a Paige Mersmann goal, but Hughes quickly responded barely three minutes later with what would become the game-winner.
- Hughes' brace came in the 80th minute, getting an assist from Rachel Boule to seal the Colonel victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- As they've done most of the year, the Colonels out-shot their opponents by a 15-6 margin, including a 10-4 edge in shots on goal.
- Centre also held a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Sarah Stodghill finished with three saves while playing all 90 minutes in goal.
- Hughes finishes the weekend with three goals including both game-winners for the Colonels.
