DANVILLE, Ky. - The Centre volleyball team played its third match in 24 hours as the Colonels faced the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels in Alumni Gym. The two teams traded sets until the match reached its deciding frame, which saw the Petrels outlast Centre 15-13.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Oglethorpe got off to a hot start in the opening set, winning 25-17, but the Colonels would bounce back, winning the second set by an identical 25-17 score.
- In the third set, the Petrels controlled from start to finish, winning by a score of 25-15. Centre once again responded with an even more dominant performance, extending the contest with a 25-14 win.
- The two teams continued on into the fifth set, but the Colonels lost their lead once the teams switched sides on the eighth point as Oglethorpe rallied to eventually take the set and the match by a score of 15-13.

Peyton Vacala led Centre with 13 kills, followed by
Savanna Roper with eight and three different players with six.

Kylie Cochran finished with a game high 34 assists and tied
Bailey Vernon for the team high with 13 digs in the contest.

Keeley Morton finished with a game high five blocks, followed by Roper with four. The Colonels played well at the net with nine total blocks compared to four for Oglethorpe.

The Colonels will hit the road to face Sewanee on Tuesday as they will be looking to pick up their first conference victory of the year.
