On Tap
- Centre welcomes 17th-ranked Berry College to Danville Saturday evening, meeting the Vikings for a much-anticipated conference showdown under the lights.

Gold Out 2018
- Tomorrow marks the fourth annual Gold Out game, as Centre Athletics will be raising money for the Kids Cancer Alliance at the game and throughout the weekend. Kids Cancer Alliance is a Kentucky-based charity that supports Indian Summer Camp. Kids Cancer Alliance offers a variety of camp and recreational activities year-around for children with cancer and their families. Kids Cancer Alliance proudly offers oncology and sibling camps, teen and family retreats, quarterly events and in-hospital programs, as well as financial support all completely free to children with cancer and their families.

Series History
- Centre holds a slight 3-2 edge against Berry, but has dropped each of the last two meetings.
- The Vikings won 28-14 last season in Georgia, earning the SAA title while handing the Colonels their only loss of the campaign.
- The last meeting in Danville was back in 2016, which Berry won by a 21-19 score to deny Centre a share of the SAA championship and berth in the NCAA Tournament.

The Last Meeting
Berry 28, Centre 14 (9.23.17)
- Berry stifled the Colonels' otherwise-prolific offense last season at Valhalla Stadium, limiting Centre to 282 total yards while securing four takeaways.
- Devin Hayes hit Mack Cox and Austin Hayes for the Colonels' two touchdowns, but the Vikings never trailed and rode four total TDs from Slade Dale to the victory.

Last Time Out
- Centre began the SAA slate with an impressive 45-6 romp over Hendrix in Conway, Ark.
- The Colonels amassed more than 500 yards of offense, including 349 through the air as Tanner Young accounted for three total touchdowns.
- Colin Burnam led the ground game with 86 yards and a touchdown, while Jaylon Hibbs led all receivers with a career-high 123 and two touchdowns on five catches.
- Defensively, Cal Lewellyn had a hand in all three Centre takeaways (see more below).

Take a Bow
- Lewellyn's six tackles, two interceptions and fumble recovery against Hendrix led to his being named SAA Defensive Player of the Week, as well as earning a spot on the D3football.com Team of the Week for the second time in his career.
- The Louisville, Ky., product has three multi-interception games in his two-plus year career.

Big Chunks
- As a team, Centre ranks sixth in NCAA Division III in passing yards per completion, and Young is fourth in the country averaging more than 20 yards to completed pass. Both rankings are tops in the conference.
- Cox leads the SAA and is eighth in DIII averaging 28.3 yards per catch, and Hibbs is close behind with at 21.3 yards.

Scouting the Vikings
 - The outright 2017 SAA champions come to Kentucky sporting a 3-0 overall record and 1-0 mark in-conference, coming off a 42-35 win at Rhodes last Saturday.
- Berry leads the SAA in scoring offense (38.0 ppg), helped in part by a league-leading rushing attack (226.3 ypg). The Vikings also lead the SAA and rank sixth nationally in turnover margin (+2.7).
- Tate Adcock leads the league and is 13th nationally with nine touchdown passes, with his primary target – Mason Kinsey – averaging 4.7 catches and 65.7 yards per game with six total touchdowns.

Next Week
- Centre's bye week is Sept. 29.
- The Colonels return to action Oct. 6 on the road at Austin, looking to increase a seven-game winning streak against the Kangaroos. Centre defeated Austin 38-3 in Danville last season.
