DANVILLE, Ky. – Centre men's soccer saw visiting Oglethorpe win a tough 2-0 decision Saturday afternoon in wet conditions at Amend Field.
In a rematch of last season's Southern Athletic Association title match, the Colonels (5-3, 0-1) suffered a pair of late goals from the Stormy Petrels (2-2, 1-0) in the conference opener.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Both sides were evenly matched through the opening half, as expected, with each coming up with a handful of attacking chances.

Bailey Spade had five saves through the first 45 minutes.
- Oglethorpe would break the scoreless tie in the 84th minute on Abraham Lopez's goal, and Gabriel Alvarez added another in the 89th minute to seal the win.

- Oglethorpe had 13 shots to Centre's 10, but the Colonels finished with three more corner kick opportunities (4 to 1).
