DANVILLE, Ky. – After dropping a heartbreaker in five sets to Rhodes, the Centre volleyball team was back in action on Sunday afternoon as they welcomed the Hendrix Warriors to Alumni Gym. The Colonels came back from a 2-0 deficit to force a fifth and deciding set, but they ran out of steam in the final frame and the Warriors came away with the win.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre held leads in each of the first two sets, including 17-9 in the first set, but Hendrix battled back, scoring the final eight points of the set to win 25-21.
- The Colonels scored ten out of the first 11 points in the third set to take the commanding early lead and held on for a 25-21 win as
Keeley Morton scored on the last kill.
- Centre pushed the match to its limit with a late 5-0 run to create distance in what had been a back and forth fourth set as
Peyton Vacala's kill gave Centre its second consecutive 25-21 win.
- In the fifth set, Hendrix took control early, scoring the first three points. Centre could get no closer than one point the rest of the way as Hendrix won 15-6.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORES
- Hendrix doubled up the Colonels on both Kills (70-35) and attack errors (46-23).

Savanna Roper was the only Centre player with double digit kills, finishing with 14 on the day, one shy of tying her career high.

Kylie Cochran finished with a match high 32 assists, recording all but two of Centre's assists for the match.

Bailey Vernon finished with 23 digs, one shy of the career high 24 digs she had yesterday against Rhodes to lead all players. Vacala added 22 digs, while Cochran and
Rylee Bledsoe each finished with double digits in digs.
- Each of the first four sets in the match ended with a score of 25-21.
