DANVILLE, Ky. – Centre men's soccer remained unblemished with a 2-0 victory against Alma in the 29th Annual Bob Allen Classic Friday evening at Amend Field.
Getting goals from veterans
Alexander Garuba and
Richard Feil, Centre improved to 3-0 overall while the Scots dropped to 1-2.
HIGHLIGHTS
- In the 27th minute, Garuba shook off a foul just outside the penalty area and played the advantage. He quickly got up and buried his first goal of the season with a rip off his right foot.

Bailey Spade came up with three saves across the opening 20 minutes of the second half as Alma looked to equalize.
- Feil added insurance with a perfectly-struck ball off an assist from
Nick Mazzarella in the 68th minute, good for his first score of the season.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Centre had 16 shots to Alma's 10, with each side putting half on goal.
- The Colonels had five corner kicks, four of which came in the first half.
- With two different goal scorers Friday, Centre has now had seven individuals net at least one goal in its opening three matches. The Colonels have a 10-0 goals to goals-against mark versus their first three opponents.

Centre wraps up the Bob Allen Nissan Classic tomorrow (Saturday) at 7:30 p.m. against Aurora. The Spartans dropped a heartbreaker to Spalding in Friday's opener, seeing a 2-0 halftime lead vanish as the Golden Eagles netted two goals in the final 1:09 and won, 3-2.
