DANVILLE, Ky. – Taylor Gebhart scored twice and
Alana Hughes made history Sunday afternoon, helping the No. 9 Centre women's soccer team run away from Rhodes in a 5-1 victory at Andrew P. Amend Field.
Hughes recorded her 14th assist of the year, setting a new single-season program record while increasing her record career total to 47.
The Colonels improved to 15-0 overall and 4-0 in the Southern Athletic Association, sending Rhodes to 8-5 overall (2-2 SAA) in a rematch of the 2018 conference tournament championship.
HIGHLIGHTS

- Trailing 1-0 at the half, the Lynx would pull even just over five minutes into the second half, as Sarah DiLuzio hit the back of the net to make it 1-1.
- With renewed energy, the Colonels went on to score four in a span of 12 minutes to put the game out of reach.
- Gebhart's second goal on Hughes' record-setting assist in the 62nd minute proved to be the game-winner. It marked the sophomore's first multi-goal effort of her career.
- In the 67th minute, Gebhart drew a foul in the box to set up a penalty kick opportunity.
Jessie Turner stepped up and converted, finding the back of the net for the first time ever.

Elizabeth Nelson added an unassisted goal in the 71st minute, and Hughes scored less than two minutes later on a helper from
Annie Stauffer to cap the scoring.
