Centre volleyball drops SAA road tilt at BSC

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Centre volleyball team headed south for their final conference road trip of the year, beginning with a match against the Birmingham Southern Panthers, who defeated the Colonels in straight sets.

HIGHLIGHTS

- The Colonels used an early run of four straight points to take the lead in the first set, but the Panthers rallied to tie it at 9-9. From there, BSC scored nine of the next ten points to take control of the set, eventually winning 25-17.
- In the second set, BSC used runs of seven straight points early and six straight late to pull away and win 25-9.
- Another run doomed Centre in the third set as BSC scored five straight midway through to create a cushion and the Colonels failed to get over the hump, losing by a score of 25-15.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

- Aby Dallas, Katie Hall and Josie Grace-Mudd each finished with three kills on a night where kills were hard to come by for the Colonels.
- After posting a career high in digs last week, Peyton Vacala finished with 22 digs against the Panthers.

NEXT UP

- It will be a quick turnaround for the Colonels, who will face Millsaps on Saturday. The Colonels fell to the Majors in a marathon five-setter two weeks ago.
