JACKSON, Miss. – Centre volleyball completed the road portion of its conference schedule with the long trip to Millsaps, where they fell to the host Majors in straight sets.
HIGHLIGHTS
- In the opening set, neither team gained much of an advantage for the duration as Centre never led by more than three and Millsaps never led by more than four. There were also nine ties in the first set, the last one coming at the end of a 4-1 Centre spurt to even the set at 20-20. Millsaps regrouped and scored the last five points to take a 25-20 win.
- The second set saw the Majors use three brief runs of four straight points to gradually extend their lead throughout the period and Centre never got over the hump, losing by a score of 25-20.
- The third set was the closest one of the match with seven lead changes and 13 ties as once again neither team led by more than three points the whole way. Trailing 24-22, the Colonels fought off one match point with a kill from Rylee Bledsoe but Millsaps came through on the second and won 25-23 to take the match.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Bledsoe finished one kill shy of a career high and she and Alice Rodgerson tied for the team lead with seven each.
- Meredith Phillips record all 26 of Centre's assists for a game high mark.
- Peyton Vacala led all players with 19 digs, with Bledsoe and Bailey Vernon each adding seven.

The Centre volleyball team will resume action on Oct. 26 when they face the Berry Vikings to start their final home weekend of the year.
