SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Rookie
Lola Duff turned away 19 shots Tuesday as Centre women's lacrosse defeated Wittenberg, 13-10, at Edwards-Maurer Field.
Her 19 saves fell one shy of the program's single-game record, set by Allison Eisner back in 2012.
Centre improves to 2-2 overall while Wittenberg falls to 1-1.
HIGHLIGHTS
- After a back-and-forth opening stretch,
Mary Katherine Hardy began scoring in a hurry. She netted the game's first goal almost six minutes in, and would eventually tally a hat trick in just 2:24, forcing an early Wittenberg timeout.

Bella Tacogue got in on the scoring shortly after, getting an assist from
Amelia Tomasulo.
- Wittenberg finally cracked the scoreboard midway through the opening half on a free position goal from Gretchen Burkey. Emily Wadds added another after to make it 4-2.
- Tacogue and
Abby Whitford provided an answer for the Colonels with goals in quick succession.

Mary Katherine Hardy scored her fourth goal of the game with under 10 minutes left, with Tacogue and
Hannah Hardy following to push the lead to 9-3.

Sloan Reding score the half's final goal near the 3:47 mark, giving Centre a 10-5 lead going into the break.
- Tacogue netted her fourth goal early in the second half, off of
Hannah Hardy's assist, and Hardy followed with a free position score to make it 12-5.
- The Tigers would score four unanswered goals to cut the deficit back to 12-9 with nearly eight minutes remaining.

Mary Katherine Hardy stemmed the tide with her fifth goal, however, and the Colonels held off the Tigers late.

Mary Katherine Hardy and Tacogue each matched their personal career highs with five and four goals, respectively.

Hannah Hardy led the way with three assists to go along with two scores. She and
McKenna Hulette each finished with four caused turnovers.
- Centre finished with a season-high 34 ground balls to Wittenberg's 32.
Mary Katherine Hardy had seven while Hulette added five.
- Wittenberg claimed 20 of 25 draw controls and out-shot Centre 41 to 27.
