SEWANEE, Tenn. – Centre women's lacrosse fell by a 18-9 score at Sewanee Saturday, dropping to third in the Southern Athletic Association standings with the loss at Puett Field.
The Colonels fall to 11-3 overall and 4-2 in the SAA, with the host Tigers improving to 12-6 (5-1 SAA).
HIGHLIGHTS
- Although Centre claimed most of the early draw controls, Sewanee jumped out to a 3-0 lead across the first five minutes.

McKenna Hulette took advantage of a free position opportunity near the 23-minute mark, putting the Colonels on the board.
- Centre hit another lengthy cold spell, however, going 20 minutes before
Mary Katherine Hardy found the back of the net on an assist from
Abby Whitford.
- Sewanee took a 7-2 lead into the break, led in large part by goalie Brianna Young, who saved 14 of Centre's 17 shots.
- The Colonels would try to climb back in the second half, getting goals from Hulette and
Bella Tacogue to pull within 10-6.
- Sewanee proved too much, though, going on a 6-1 run across the middle of the period to put the game out of reach.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Hulette led the team with four goals, and MK Hardy added two. Hardy also finished with 10 draw controls and five ground balls.

Clare Heaney recorded four ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Lola Duff finished with 11 saves.
