DANVILLE, Ky. – Centre field hockey began the 2019-20 athletic season on a high note, dropping the visiting Kenyon Ladies by a 3-0 margin Friday afternoon at South Turf Field.
The Colonels (1-0) snap a two-year skid against Kenyon (0-1), winning their first season opener since a 7-1 rout over the Ladies in 2016.
HIGHLIGHTS

- The Colonels put a handful of attempts on goal, but Kenyon's keeper Suzy Deems turned aside 10 shots before Centre finally broke through.

-
Megan Coomes followed with a tally just 60 seconds prior to the half, cleaning up a saved shot in front of the goal face.
- Although the Ladies finally had some chances offensively in the third and fourth quarters, Centre's defensive effort didn't allow for any sort of comeback bid.
