LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Centre men's soccer team played their second match in as many nights as they concluded tournament action against the host Golden Eagles of Spalding. The Colonels and Golden Eagles played to a 1-1 deadlock after two overtime periods.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Centre struck first late in the opening period as Nathan Wilcox scored off of a Spalding deflection to put the Colonels up 1-0 at the 41-minute mark in the first half.
- Spalding answered back early in the second half after Kornell Hilliard found Mirza Ugarak for the equalizer 52 minutes into the contest.
- The scoring chances were scarce during both of the overtime periods as Centre's Tate Johnson and Spalding's Trevor Massa saved all five attempts in their directions during the extra frames.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Centre held an overwhelming 30-11 advantage in shots over the Golden Eagles, including a 27-9 advantage during regulation. Alexander Garuba finished with nine shots on the night, seven on goal.
- Johnson played all 110 minutes in net for the Colonels and finished with five stops, with a pair of key saves during the overtime periods.
- The Colonels held a 14-6 advantage in corner kicks, with 11 of them coming in the second half.

Centre men's soccer will travel to Haverford, Pa. next weekend to compete in the Jimmy Mills Tournament against host Haverford as well as TCNJ.
