MEQUON, Wis. - The Centre field hockey opened its Southern Athletic Association slate with a trip up north to face the Concordia Falcons. The Colonels improved to 5-0 on the year with a 4-1 victory over Concordia in the conference opener.

- As part of a pattern in the early stages of the season, the Colonels got on the board quickly against the Falcons.

Caroline Brotzge torched down the middle and rifled one in from 12 yards out to put the Colonels up by two goals.
- Midway through the second quarter, the Colonels increased their lead to three as
Katie Jenkins scored off a rebound.
- After the Falcons scored their lone goal of the game in the third quarter, Brotzge was quick to answer, converting a solo effort from ten yards out for her second goal of the game and Centre's last.

- The Colonels outshot the Falcons by a margin of 17-4 for the game, with Brotzge leading the way with four. The first quarter saw Centre hold Concordia without a shot for the entire period.
- With her two goals today, Brotzge now has 13 points in her last three contests.

Centre field hockey will stay in Mequon one more day and battle 12th ranked Christopher Newport. The always talented Captains squad was the only team to defeat Centre during a 12-game stretch last season, winning 3-0 in Harrisonburg, Va.
