ATLANTA– Centre men's soccer (6-3-1) fell 3-1 at Oglethorpe (6-3) on Saturday afternoon, dropping their Southern Athletic Association opener to the Stormy Petrels.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior Michael Vogt collected his first goal of the year in the 28thminute, when Alexander Garuba sailed a corner kick to Vogt who finished into the back of the net.
- Oglethorpe answered back in the 33rd minute with a free kick by junior Sebastion Carlson.
- The Petrels scored again four minutes into the second half which proved to be the push they needed.
- Oglethorpe ended the scoring in the 65th minute with Matt Ward's low ball to the back post.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Sophomore Haydon Korfhage recorded his first two saves of the season.
- Centre recorded six shots in each half, but was ultimately outshot 14-12 in the match.
- The Colonels garnered three corner kicks compared to the Stormy Petrels two.
