MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – Centre volleyball dropped a 3-0 decision Sunday against No. 7 Berry, falling to 5-8 overall and 2-3 in the Southern Athletic Association.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Berry sprinted out of the gates in the opening set, marching toward a 25-8 victory behind a sharp .294 (13-3-34) attack percentage.
- Centre settled in during the second set, and maintained a 16-11 lead following a kill from Josei Grace-Mudd. But the host Vikings rallied, reeling off six straight points to take a late lead and holding on for a 25-19 win.
- The third set proved to be similar, as the Colonels used a 5-0 stretch to take a 14-11 lead. Again Berry answered, putting together a crippling 8-1 run that all but put the match away.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Vikings hit .245 for the match, recording 40 kills to Centre's 17. Berry also held a advantages in service aces (8-3), blocks (8-5) and digs (47-40).

Meredith Phillips led Centre with 16 assists, adding five digs and three blocks.
Peyton Vacala had a team-high 15 digs, and
Alice Rodgerson paced the Colonels with five kills.
