MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Centre women's basketball saw its three-game winning streak come to an end Sunday afternoon, dropping a 64-48 decision against Rhodes inside Mallory Gymnasium.
The Colonels slide to 11-9 overall and 5-4 in the Southern Athletic Association, while the Lynx – who lost 60-55 in last weekend's meeting in Danville – improved to 13-7 overall and 7-2 in-conference.
Kat Wilson and
Rachel Jennings scored 13 apiece for Centre, but as a team the Colonels shot just 7 of 25 (28%) from the field in the second half as the Lynx pulled away.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Rhodes hit the game's first two buckets, but Centre answered and eventually took a 10-9 lead after Wilson's second 3-pointer under the four-minute mark.

Kylee Murray hit a 3-pointer as time expired in the period, giving Centre a 17-10 lead heading to the second.
- Rhodes crept back into the game throughout the next quarter, tying the game at 26-26 before the halftime break.
- The Lynx shot out on a 9-1 run to open the third quarter, and ultimately never relinquished the lead.
- Centre was out-scored 22-12 in the third quarter, and was held scoreless for nearly six minutes of the fourth to make any comeback bid untenable.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Centre was out-rebounded 43-33 by Rhodes, which also led the Colonels 36-18 in points in the paint.

Mikayla Fee led the Colonels with seven boards, while Jennings and
Abigail Wehby co-led with three assists each.
- Defensively, Centre held Rhodes to 35% shooting overall and just 1 of 12 from 3-point range.
- Rhodes shot 25 free throws to Centre's 14, finishing with a +11 margin at the line in makes, as well.
