ROME, Ga. – Centre women's basketball claimed a narrow 49-44 victory Friday evening at Berry, getting 20 points from
Kat Wilson in an important Southern Athletic Association showdown.
The Colonels move to 14-9 overall and 8-4 in-conference, solidifying their spot among the top four teams – each of which will earn the right to host a SAA Tournament quarterfinal in this year's new format.
Centre also completes the season sweep against the Vikings (11-12, 5-7 SAA) after a 77-61 victory earlier this year in Danville.

Ellen Hicks scored the game's first basket, but the Vikings claimed early momentum to lead 16-11 after the opening quarter.
- Centre climbed back in the second, and Wilson converted a traditional 3-point play midway through the period to make it 18-18.
- A late 3-pointer from Kristin Hunt helped the Vikings take a 23-20 lead into the half.
- Wilson and
Abigail Wehby scored Centre's first 10 points of the third, as Centre gained a 29-25 lead.
- Berry ended the quarter on an 11-3 run to carry a four-point edge into the final frame.

Rachel Jennings 3-pointer.

- Wilson finished 6 of 12 overall and 6 of 7 from the charity stripe, notching her fourth 20-point outing the season.
- Hicks totaled 10 points and five rebounds, and
Mikayla Fee led the team with seven boards.

- Centre held Berry to just 30% (16-53) overall and 24% (5-21) from long range for the game.
